Our ability to create environment in which our children, can thrive free from violence is vital to ensure sustainable development for generations to come. Achieving target 16.2 and other targets related to ending violence against children is a litmus test for the whole Agenda 2030 and especially for the goal 16. The HLPF 2019 creates a critical opportunity to discuss the accountability for the commitments made and highlight the need for accelerated action towards ending violence against children. The purpose of this event is to discuss the importance, opportunities and challenges to end violence against children by bringing into conversations perspectives and data collected by civil society including through their engagement with citizens and children.
