Objetivos:
Compartilhar experiências sobre o envolvimento dos Estados nos mecanismos de direitos humanos e, particularmente, no terceiro ciclo da Revisão Periódica Universal. Tem igualmente o objetivo de identificar boas práticas, tendências comuns, desafios e oportunidades nos níveis nacional, regional e internacional para alinhar direitos humanos com os ODS;
Chamar atenção para a importância central de adotar uma abordagem aos ODS baseada em direitos humanos. Incluem-se entre as características dessa abordagem “não deixar ninguém para trás”, vincular o monitoramento, elaboração de relatórios e implementação dos ODS com as recomendações emergentes do processo de RPU e dos mecanismos de Direitos Humanos e destacar o ODS 16 e objetivos e metas relacionados (ODS 16+) como fator acelerador de toda a Agenda 2030.

This meeting was organised to:
To share experiences on the engagement of States in the human rights mechanisms and particularly the UPR third cycle and identify good practices, common trends, challenges and opportunities at the national, regional and international levels to align human rights with the SDGs;
To explore the centrality of adopting a human rights-based approach to the SDGs, including ‘leaving no one behind’, to link SDG monitoring, reporting and implementation with the recommendations emerging from the UPR process and the Human Rights mechanisms, and to highlight SDG 16 and related goals and targets (SDG 16+) as an accelerator across the 2030 Agenda.
