The World Day of Social Justice is held annually on 20 February. The theme of this global day in 2019 is 'If You Want Peace & Development, Work for Social Justice'.
Social justice is an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations. Upholding social justice is evident through promoting gender equality or the rights of indigenous peoples and migrants; when removing barriers that people face because of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.
