The seventh UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2019) will take place under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
HLPF 2019 address the theme, Empowering people an ensuring inclusiveness and equality. This will involve an in-depth review of six SDGs, including:
- SDG 4: Quality education
- SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
- SDG 10: Reduced inequalities
- SDG 13: Climate action
- SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
As SDG 16 is under review at HLPF 2019, it is an opportunity for practitioners to work collectively to draw attention to and action further work on SDG 16+. There will therefore be events leading up to, and side events at HLPF 2019 with a specific focus on SDG 16+. Stay up-to-date with these events on the SDG 16 Hub.
There will be 42 countries that conduct Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) for HLPF 2019.
