Ensuring meaninful participation of civil society in governance is not only working towards achieving Goal 16 itself, but also securing an efficient, just and democratic implementation process of the other SDGs. Given the important role that Goal 16 plays in the Sustainable Development Agenda, this toolkit was created by the TAP Network, and it is intended to guide civil society and other nongovernment stakeholders on how to engage with their governments and other stakeholders (at local, regional and international level) to support the planning, implementation, follow-up and accountability of Goal 16.
