The Danish Institute for Human Rights is a state institution, independent of government with a national and international mandate by law. They are known by partners for being collaborative, trusted and for taking responsibility in creating long-lasting solutions, allowing them to operate in the nexus between governments, NGOs and businesses.
In Denmark, they monitor and identify areas in which there are human rights challenges, as well as to advise the government, the parliament, authorities and the business community on human rights.
Globally, they are in a unique position, being the only national human rights institution that in addition to the national mandate has substantial international capacity. This combination, together with their solid experience, provides access to operate in the nexus between government institutions, business and NGOs.
