This paper discusses the challenges of Measuring SDG16, that represent an opportunity to better understand the relationship between governance, peace and security, and development. The author also discusses how a “common but differentiated responsibility” approach can be a good way to measure SDG16. Finally, he presents regional initiatives such as the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) as a tool to provide in-depth analysis of country-specific targets under Goal 16, while highlighting effective local approaches.
